My Face

You may be asking, Who is this fellow with such a happy opinion of his cerebral cortex? Well, the Internet tends to create the illusion of self-importance. It is, after all, the biggest megaphone on the planet. In any case, the inquiry is a fair one.

My name is Ken Marks. My wife, Linda, and I make our home in San Jose, CA. We both grew up in Southern California and decades ago realized that we weren't living in the better half of the state.

I retired in 2008, after working in wage slavery for 38 years as a technical writer. We have a son, Josh. He and our daughter-in-law, Sia, have two daughters: Riley, who first saw the light of day less than a month ago, and Haley, 4, the big sister. They will one day rule the world, a Golden Age that I will regretfully miss.

My main hobby is photography, and I feed it shamelessly with books, magazines, and photo gear. I'm also a Photoshop enthusiast whose goal is to produce pictures of what I think I saw rather than pictures of what the camera says I saw. Other amusements are ping pong, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, and chess. Writing blurbs on those subjects probably wouldn't make for interesting reading.

You can find my pictures on Flickr. I also have a “Garden website”, a slender presence on Facebook, and a few scrapbooks in progress on Scrapblog.
